Walter Kaitz Foundation Partners with AfroLife

LOS ANGELES (January 20, 2017) – AfroLife, a wholly owned subsidiary of Press Media Group launching early 2018, today announced a partnership with Walter Kaitz Foundation to lead discussions on the internet-based “over the top” (OTT) media distribution model during the annual Hollywood Creative Forum.  With a conference focus on innovation in consumer viewing, the AfroLife team, led by founder and chief executive officer Alberto Marzan, will share the latest insights and trends, missed opportunities within specific demographics and competitive growth strategies.

“With the recent success of some properties in the OTT space, the Disney-Fox merger and Netflix spending seven billion dollars on content, the race is on to develop sustainable strategies that will incentivize users to subscribe to OTT platforms,” said Alberto Marzan, founder and chief executive officer of AfroLife. “The Hollywood Creative Forum is fertile ground to share best practices, reveal our path to driving innovation and dig deep into this discussion with other players in the space. Our hope is that you walk away reimagining your entire consumer acquisition and targeting approach.”

“Interest and participation in the Hollywood Creative Forum continues to grow each year because we work to keep our finger on the pulse of emerging issues and trending discussions in our industry,” said Dr. David Porter Executive Director of Walter Kaitz Foundation. “The shift from traditional ad-supported linear programming and simultaneous growth of platform options necessitates a closer look into how our industry is evolving. AfroLife’s dynamic point of view and forward-thinking approach creates the perfect level of excitement and tension for what is sure to be a memorable session on the path to innovation.”

The Hollywood Creative Forum is two day conference designed to foster business collaborations through both structured and informal networking opportunities, provide practical business and creative intelligence, and spark debate through a variety of high-level keynote presentations, panel discussions and workshops focused on diversity in programming. The conference will take place on February 13 and 14 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Launching in Spring 2018, AfroLife offers a media destination for consumers of color blending classic, popular, emerging and independent content. With market research showing the strong surge in multicultural consumption of streaming content and the lack of content options specific to this population, AfroLife offers a premium experience projected to attract strong consumer adoption.
