Alberto J. Marzan is an American filmmaker, producer and entrepreneur. Throughout his career, he has been driven by impact and innovation, applying the same discipline across creative, entrepreneurial and humanitarian work.
He is the founder of Grupo Marzan and the creator of Estudios Marzan, a film studio development project conceived to expand production infrastructure and international filmmaking capacity in Latin America.

FILM AND CREATIVE WORK
Marzan’s work is grounded in truth, identity and the complexities of human behavior.
His current development slate includes projects such as South Bay, a coming-of-age drama set in 1990s Southern California. His previous development work includes serving as lead producer on Thelonious, a Thelonious Monk biopic developed and publicly announced in Rolling Stone and Variety. He also developed Where the World Ends, an adaptation of Christophe Chabouté’s graphic novel Alone, announced for production in Belgium by Screen Global Production.
His broader creative practice encompasses creative direction, photography and visual art. Across these disciplines, he explores architecture, intimacy, impermanence and the quiet details that shape how stories are perceived.
In 2023, Marzan exhibited Rosa, a watercolor triptych created in Buenos Aires and transferred onto recycled aluminum. Presented in La Jolla, California, the work examines the tension between beauty, fragility and decay.
In 2021, Marzan launched VumaTV, a multicultural streaming platform focused on delivering diverse, studio-quality programming to audiences around the world.
CIVIC AND PHILANTHROPIC WORK
His civic and philanthropic involvement has included service on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Council to Combat Teen Cruelty, along with initiatives dedicated to protecting children and strengthening communities.

His executive experience includes leading international organizations across healthcare and social impact. He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of the International Children’s Heart Foundation, a global organization working in more than 40 countries to advance access to pediatric cardiac care.
