SELECTED FILM & MEDIA WORK
Alberto J. Marzan’s work spans narrative feature film, visual storytelling and media development. Guided by an interest in identity, ambition, memory and the complexities of human behavior, this selection brings together completed work, internationally developed projects and original media ventures.
Extending beyond narrative film, Marzan’s visual practice includes photography, creative direction and visual art. Working across moving and still images, he explores architecture, intimacy, impermanence and the quiet details that shape human experience. In 2023, he presented Rosa, a watercolor triptych created in Buenos Aires and exhibited in La Jolla, California, examining beauty, fragility, decay and self-perception.
Vuma TV
I created VumaTV to ensure younger generations see themselves in the media—something I lacked growing up. My family, with roots in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Venezuela, reflects a rich diversity mainstream media has long overlooked.
VumaTV, named after the Zulu word for “altogether,” was founded to make media more authentic and representative of the world’s true diversity. Our network is built for everyone, regardless of income—we even offer a free account—because real representation should be accessible to all.
One Winter
Julian Dennison, who broke out in Taika Waititi’s comedy Hunt for the Wilderpeople before landing roles in Deadpool 2 and Godzilla vs. Kong, is set to star alongside Minnie Driver, plus James Rolleston (The Dark Horse, Boy) and Erana James (The Wilds, The Changeover), in coming-of-age story One Winter.
Where the World Ends
The way Antonin has written “Where the world ends” is like taking a magical and real look around your own soul, set in a dangerously gorgeous lighthouse. The bones of this story are solid, soon you will know what I know.
Thelonious
It’s the story that today’s world needs,” Marzan says. “This is not a simple story about a black jazz pianist that gets fame, does drugs, and dies. They will understand the genius Thelonious was and how the world changed after him for good

South Bay
