Gilded

London, 2019

Photographed at the Victoria and Albert Museum while researching Where the World Ends, a film I was developing from Paris. I was drawn to the deep, cold, almost suffocating blues—the hue reminded me of the hadal zone, the deepest reaches of the ocean. Against that darkness, the vivid gold of the frame created a tension that felt like something submerged finding its way back toward the surface.

Parisian Heat

Cannes, France · 2018
Photographed from the balcony outside my bedroom in Cannes. I was drawn to the intense yellow light beyond the window and the way the surrounding blackness made it feel almost seductive—hot, private and slightly forbidden. The contrast turned an ordinary view into something more intimate, as if the darkness itself were holding the heat in.

Cliff Side Green

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic · 2026
Photographed along the coast of Punta Cana, I was drawn to the cliff’s weathered surface and the way it seemed to rise against the open sky. The birds cutting across the frame gave the scene a sense of freedom and scale, making the landscape feel both grounded and untouchable at the same time.

Broken Orchid

La Jolla, California · 2023
While working on the Rosa exhibition, the orchid beside the painting fell almost systematically, arranging itself in a way that felt strangely intentional. What began as an accident started to read like a gesture as if the flower were asking Rosa for water. The scene felt less like a still life and more like a reflection of what we all need to flourish: the nourishment of friendship.

Midnight Street

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic · 2025
We all need guidance. I photographed this colonial street in the first city of the Western world, a place carrying a history that touches all of us in one way or another. What stayed with me was the way the streetlights seemed to lead you forward history behind you, the present unfolding ahead, and a quiet sense that even in darkness, there is something showing us the way.

Jay Street

Chula Vista, California · 2023
I was drawn to the way the moon seemed to settle between the masts, almost becoming part of the marina itself. The boats, rigging and distant mountains created a quiet geometry around it, while the warm moonlight broke through the cool blue of the evening. What stayed with me was that brief sense of stillness everything anchored in place, yet the sky continuing to move above it.

Amber Ruins

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic · 2025
The contradiction of age and immediacy is what stayed with me. The stone carries centuries of history, yet under the amber light it felt newly revealed, almost alive with the present. It reminded me that the past is never really finished with us; it keeps resurfacing, asking us to look again at what we inherit, what we preserve, and what we choose to carry forward.

Cruise

Miami, Florida · 2022
This image became about the pain of being left behind the feeling of watching something move farther away while you remain rooted in place. The distant ship carries that separation quietly, almost indifferently, while everything in the foreground feels held in place. There is grief in being abandoned, but also a hard clarity: at some point, you have to stop watching what left and begin turning back toward your own life.

Crimson Halo

Bonita Vista, California · 2022
This image made me think about the way love can hold us in a trance. We are drawn to what shines to the intensity, the beauty, the promise of something almost hypnotic. But the brighter the object becomes, the easier it is to lose sight of everything around it. Crimson Halo became a reflection on that moment when attraction turns into fixation, and love begins to blur the line between what is real and what we desperately want to see.

Stone and Castle

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic · 2025
This image made me think about what it means to be king of nothing. The castle still stands in the distance, carrying all the symbols of power, permanence and authority, while the broken stone in the foreground feels closer to the truth. Titles, walls and monuments can survive long after their meaning is gone. In the end, power without purpose is just another ruin.

Ocean Waves

La Jolla, California · 2023
Painted in watercolor and finished with moss, this piece is about the contradiction of water. It can wash something clean, but it can also leave a stain and sting behind. Water carries things away, yet it also marks where it has been. I wanted that tension to live in the work, the idea that healing and memory can exist at the same time, and that being cleansed does not always mean being untouched.

Moonlight

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic · 2026
From the shore, the ocean looked completely at peace, silvered by moonlight and almost motionless beneath the palms. But I kept thinking about everything happening below the surface the pull of the current, the darkness, the unseen movement. It felt romantic to me in the same way love can be: calm and beautiful from a distance, while beneath it lives an entire world of depth, tension and desire.

‍ ‍Vivid Roses

Mexico City, Mexico · 2024
Spring always carries a sense of beginning. The flowers at that moment when everything seemed newly awake the color more vivid, the growth almost impatient. There is something hopeful in that kind of renewal, a reminder that life keeps finding ways to return, expand, and become visible again.

Santa Rosa

Santa Monica, California · 2023
The ocean in Santa Monica has a way of holding onto the sun long after the day begins to fade. I was drawn to that warm, sun-kissed glow resting across the water the kind of light that makes everything feel briefly timeless. The horizon seemed to stretch forever, reminding me that some moments do not need to be dramatic to stay with us; they simply endure, carried by light, water, and memory.

Rosa Underwater

Palm Springs, California · 2023
Rosa Underwater became a reflection on what relationships can feel like when too much remains unspoken. From the surface, everything may appear calm, but underneath there can be pressure, distance, longing, and the constant effort to keep breathing. I wanted the image to hold that tension the beauty of connection alongside the fear of losing yourself inside it.

Eruption

Pacific Northwest · 2023
From above, even something volatile can look beautiful. The mountain seemed calm, sculptural, almost peaceful from a distance, and that made me think about conflict the way they can appear contained until something unexpected breaks through. What begins as tension can suddenly erupt, changing the landscape in an instant. Distance can make conflict look small, but when you are inside it, everything feels different.

In the Shadows

Istanbul, Turkey · 2026
Sometimes the shadows are exactly where you need to be. Darkness strips away distraction and forces you to sit with what you would rather avoid. There are moments when healing does not begin by reaching for the light, but by learning how to exist without it. Only after your eyes adjust do you begin to notice the smallest traces of brightness and understand that light means something different once you have known the dark.

King Me

Brussels, Belgium · 2022
Would you rather be rich, or be king? To have everything you want, or to carry the weight of power, responsibility, and consequence? Wealth can be counted. Sovereignty cannot. One gives you possession; the other asks who you become when others, and perhaps even your own future, depend on you. If you had to choose only one, which would you choose?
