A Restoration Of Appreciation

Before the pandemic, life moved quickly. I experienced so many highs that ordinary moments began to feel expected. Without realizing it, I stopped appreciating much of what made my life meaningful.

The isolation and uncertainty of 2020 forced me to slow down. It was a difficult period marked by loneliness, depression and unrest, but it also gave me space to examine how I was living and where I was placing my energy.

For years, I had focused heavily on work, ambition and achievement. I was always building, planning or reaching for whatever came next. During that process, I sometimes failed to give enough attention to my emotional health and the relationships that mattered most. I began to rediscover the value of simple things: long walks, conversations with family, time with the people closest to me and memories of those who are no longer here. These moments helped restore a sense of gratitude, balance and connection that I had allowed myself to lose.

Taking care of my emotional and mental health is now a priority. I am rebuilding relationships, becoming more present and learning to appreciate everyday experiences while they are happening. The person I was before the pandemic could not have created the work I am developing now. The experience changed my perspective and gave me a clearer understanding of what deserves my time and energy.

I am grateful for the realignment.
