Psychology, Not Phycology
I recently joined Shannon Paul and Jatin Satia for a lively conversation that began with an unexpected question: Am I more interested in psychology, the study of the mind, or phycology, the study of algae?
The mix-up gave us a good laugh, but it also opened the door to a broader conversation about creativity, culture and storytelling.
At the time, I was working to launch VumaTV, an international streaming platform created to connect audiences with stories from around the world. I spoke about the thinking behind the project, the challenges of building something new and my belief that media can help people understand cultures beyond their own.
